I first picked up a DLSR when I was 18 and I havent looked back since. A friend of mine had started a photography degree and he let me have a go on his camera and immediately I envied him. I had always thought of myself as creative but as with most teenagers I came to the end of school and didnt have a clue what to do. I knew I wanted to go Uni and I was good at design, especially the technical side of it, so I decided to give Product Design a go.
There were times when I really wished I wasnt sat behind a desk and I was out following my passion and taking photos. But now I look back and I can see how all the hours I spent at a computer whether rendering designs or editing images and really helped me with so many aspects of photography.
Having been born and raised in the Welsh countryside Ive been spoilt for choice for landscape images, macro wildlife and impressive natural beauty. But after a move to London last year I found my true passion; urban landscapes. Whether its traditional or modern architecture, panoramic skylines, or the tranquil patches of greenery, every time I leave my door in London Im always thinking of the best ways to capture everything the city holds at just one moment in time.
In recent months some friends have asked if I will help them out for portrait shoots. Ive given it a go before using my younger brother and sister and patient and willing models but hadnt taken it any further. Now that Ive got to grips with a studio set Im really enjoying it and Im looking to take this part of photography further in the near future.
